Choose the digestive question first

No digestion or gut health tests are currently listed in this category. The guidance below explains distinct digestive screening markers.

A fecal occult blood test checks for blood that is not visible in stool. Celiac screening checks a different marker, while an H. pylori antigen test has an infection target. These tests are not interchangeable and do not provide a complete assessment of gut health.

Compare the specimen and the marker

Check the exact test's intended use, collection method and result interpretation. A blood-in-stool result does not identify the cause of bleeding, and a celiac screening result does not by itself confirm or exclude celiac disease. Avoid choosing by a symptom description alone.

For infection-specific selection, see gastrointestinal infection tests. The gastroenterology collection organizes the same area around a clinical workflow. Product-specific documentation determines whether a test is appropriate for the intended user.
