Description
The Cleartest D-Dimer Rapid Test is a professional immunochromatographic cassette test for the qualitative detection of D-dimer in human plasma, whole blood, EDTA blood, and citrate blood. As a key marker of fibrinolysis, D-dimer is widely used as an aid in the exclusion of venous thromboembolism (VTE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and pulmonary embolism. The Cleartest D-Dimer test delivers a clear visual result in approximately 10 minutes.
Key features
- Qualitative D-dimer detection at a clinically relevant cut-off
- Flexible sample types: plasma, whole blood, EDTA or citrate blood
- Point-of-care cassette format – no instrument needed
- Result in approximately 10 minutes
- Storage 2–30 °C – practical for busy practices
- CE-marked IVD for professional use
Clinical context
D-dimer testing is an essential component of the diagnostic work-up for suspected VTE. In combination with validated clinical scores such as Wells or Geneva, a negative D-dimer result supports the safe exclusion of DVT or pulmonary embolism in low- to intermediate-probability patients, while a positive result directs further imaging and specialist care. The Cleartest D-Dimer rapid test brings this capability to point-of-care settings, enabling faster triage where immediate laboratory access is not available.
Where this test is used
- General practice & family medicine
- Urgent care and walk-in clinics
- Emergency and ambulance services
- Hospital outpatient and discharge clinics
- Remote and occupational health settings
How the test works
A small volume of plasma, whole blood, EDTA or citrate blood is applied to the sample well of the cassette, followed by buffer. Anti-D-dimer antibodies conjugated to colored particles bind the D-dimer analyte in the sample and are captured at the test line. A control line confirms a valid run. The result is read visually after approximately 10 minutes.
