How to use and reprocess the urinal

1. Prepare: Check that the bottle is clean, dry and empty. Open the tethered clip lid and keep it attached to the neck.
2. Position: Hand the urinal to the patient or place it in position. The angled neck is designed to be used while lying flat or semi-reclined.
3. Read the scale: After use, hold the bottle upright and read the volume directly from the raised side graduation in 100 ml steps.
4. Close and transport: Press the blue clip lid back onto the opening. The tight seal helps contain odour and spills between the bedside and the sluice room.
5. Empty and rinse: Empty the contents into the toilet or dedicated disposal unit. Rinse with warm water and a mild neutral detergent.
6. Disinfect or autoclave: For standard reuse, wipe down with a PP-compatible surface disinfectant. For clinical reprocessing, autoclave at up to 130 °C according to your facility's SOP. Avoid abrasive pads and solvents, which can dull the scale markings.
7. Dry and store: Let the bottle air-dry with the lid open before the next use.
